If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…

Unless you have been under a rock for the last few months, certainly you have heard about Microsoft Flight. Interesting how they dropped the “Simulator” part, but if you ask me, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then it is a duck.  No matter how it is branded, it still is a S-I-M-U-L-A-T-O-R for those of you who share my point of view. Calling it something different to appeal to a broader audience will be interesting to see if it can be done.  We’ll see in the next few months what is to become of it. 1. To further bolster your argument, the MS team themselves have said that they have no intention of abandoning the simulator aspect or dumbing it down into some sort of arcade game. My take is that they want to expand the audience, and apparently the word “simulator” doesn’t sound like that much fun to some people. Hard to believe, I know.

Reading between the lines, they seem to be trying to lure a few hundred thousand hapless gamers into the world of hard-core simulation by offering them candy and the promise of a simple, no-frills game. Once they’re ensnared, it’s only a matter of time until some of them start buying controllers, tweaking their systems, and complaining that the rivet count is off on their favorite new add-on jets.

There’s no way this is anything but good news to those of us who already have a passion for sim flight.

The ATC on FSX was faulty , let’s say pretty much hilarious.

I bet Flight ATC won’t be able to help ya on landing under bad weather conditions if you have to deal with a missed approach.

That’s renders Flight quite keen to the arcade side of the hill despiting hopes deployed on each forums.

It is only thanks to third party developers that FSX years ago had a certain success, otherwise, considering its age, issues and heavy limitations, it would have died since few months after the release in 2006.

It is sad that MS Flight is being made like a console game based on the kinetic controller, IMO real Flight simmers will definitely choose X Plane 10 because those MS Flight colored and funny sprites and the overall arcade environment pertain to the console world only, where ” simulation ” is an unknown word.
